When women go through menopause later in life, it is considered part of the normal aging process. When they experience this dramatic change much younger in life (sometimes as early at the late 20’s) it is known as Premature Ovarian Failure. It is characterized by normal insufficiency that eventually leads to infertility, but also comes along with a host of other equally unwanted symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, night sweats, low libido, and difficulty concentrating. We recommend using acupuncture for premature ovarian failure as a safe, studied, proven method to combat this condition.

Modern methods of treating this illness can be risky, sometimes resulting in heart disease, osteoporosis, or infertility. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this constellation of symptoms is treated naturally, using acupuncture and herbal remedies. Several studies from China over the past 15 years have shown that getting acupuncture for premature ovarian failure can actually slow or terminate this process, going so far as to demonstrate the restoration of estrogen production. If we add herbal preparations to this treatment strategy, the therapeutic value of TCM is exponential. On top of this already powerful combination, we also strive to provide extra value for our patients by providing lifestyle modification advice (such as dietary advice), meditation instruction, psychotherapy, qi gong exercises, gua sha, cupping, electroacupuncture, tui na massage, and more.
